Sensei Kim Weber – Shichidan (7th degree black belt)
Kim is a chief instructor at Shotokan Karate of Anderson and graduate of the ISKF Instructor Program. Her karate training began in 1985. She has participated in tournaments locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Her most notable performance was at the 2nd World ShotoCup held in Cebu, Philippines in 2012 where she became the World Champion in the Senior Women's Kumite division; placed 2nd in the Senior Women's Kata division; and also received two gold medals as a member of the Senior Women's Kata Team and Kumite Team. From 2000 until recently, she has been a national competitor in kata, kumite and team events, representing the Mid-America Region of the ISKF. For her personal development, she attends monthly regional trainings, and roughly 5 karate camps per year. Her official ISKF certified credentials are level A Instructor; level B Examiner; and level A Tournament Judge. Kim is a member of the Mid-America Technical Committee and is the secretary of the Mid-America ISKF Region. She is dedicated to passing on her knowledge for the growth of her students. In addition to karate classes at SKA, Kim is an ASFA Certified Self-Defense Instructor and teaches Personal Safety Programs around Cincinnati, and after school programs at local Elementary Schools.

Sensei Jeff Weber – Shichidan (7th degree black belt)

Jeff has competed in tournaments locally, regionally, nationally and internationally representing the ISKF/US Team (2014 Pan-Am Tournament in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico - 2nd Over-45 Team Kata and in 2016 ISKF Shoto Cup (World Tournament) in Cape Town, South Africa - 3rd Place individual Over-45 Kata, 1st Place Over-45 Team Kata, 2nd Place Over-45 Team Kumite). To improve his skills and increase his knowledge, he attends monthly regional training's and camps that are instructed by national Shotokan Instructors. Jeff is a graduate of the ISKF's Instructor Training program and is an A level instructor as well as a B level examiner. Jeff is also an A level certified tournament judge, having judged regionally, nationally and internationally. He is a member of the Mid-America Technical Committee and is the treasurer for the Mid-America Karate Region. After 30 + years of service, in 2020 Jeff retired as a Lieutenant/Paramedic with the Anderson Township Fire Department. He is currently a Special Deputy with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department.

Andrew is an assistant instructor at Shotokan Karate of Anderson and is currently enrolled in the ISKF Instructor Trainee program and is a B level certified tournament judge. He began training in Shotokan in 1986 and trained until 1992. He returned to Shotokan in 2000 because of its emphasis on solid, basic technique. He obtained his Shodan in 2003 and obtained his Yondan in 2011. He competes locally, regionally and nationally and is currently part of SKA's kata team. Andrew currently lives out of state and trains at the dojo when he is in town. When not doing karate, Andrew is self-employed as a digital transformation strategist for the Holistyx Group.

Len is an assistant instructor. His karate training began in 1991. After an eight year absence he returned in 2003 and focused upon obtaining his black belt. Len took his Shodan (1st degree) in 2005. He received his Nidan in 2008, at age fifty. Len places a major emphasis on regular self and regional training. Competing both regionally and nationally he feels he has reaped the benefits of Karate-Do. Len is a level D certified tournament judge.

Sempai Margaret Williams – Yondan (4th degree black belt)
Margaret is an assistant instructor at Shotokan Karate at Anderson. She began training in 1985 at Auburn University under Mikami Sensei. She later trained Shotokan in the US Karate Federation, where she received her Sandan in 2000. In 2007, she started training under Takashina Sensei, earning her JKA/ISKF Shodan that year. She has competed nationally, with her highest honor being chosen for the JKA/WF America national team for kumite in 2008. In 2014, she earned her Yondan from Mikami Sensei. In 2023, Margaret moved to Ohio and returned to the ISKF. She is a certified level C tournament judge, a certified level C instructor, and a certified level D examiner. Margaret, who earned her PhD in Rhetoric at age 61 and now teaches writing at UC Clermont College, loves karate for the way it fosters lifelong learning that almost always brings her full circle. |
Sempai Adam Piccirillo – Nidan (2nd degree black belt)
Adam is an assistant instructor at Shotokan Karate of Anderson. He began training in 2003. He obtained his Shodan in 2012 and his Nidan in 2022. He competes regionally representing Shotokan Karate of Anderson and nationally representing the Mid-America Region. Adam is D level certified tournament judge and is enrolled in the ISKF Instructor Trainee Program. He loves Shotokan not only for its physical challenges, but also for the mental aspect as well.

Sempai Beverly Pugh – Sandan (3rd degree black belt)
Bev is an assistant instructor at Shotokan Karate of Anderson. In 2000 she began training under SKJF and joined ISKF in 2006. She tested for and transferred her Shodan to ISKF in 2009 and obtained Nidan in 2010. She received her Sandan in 2018 at age 59. Bev is certified as a level D tournament judge. Both the physical and mental challenges of karate keep her engaged, and she finds many ways that her karate training has benefited her outside of the dojo. |
